The Hindu Business Line Chennai, January 19, 2005

BAHWAN CyberTek (BCT), a Muscat-based software firm with a development centre in Chennai, has launched a productivity enhancement tool that helps companies integrate various applications in an organisation.

The Cuecent BPMS — business process management system — would help companies improve business process through a single and flexible solution, said Mr S. Durgaprasad, Chief Executive Officer, Bahwan CyberTek.

The product integrated various software applications like i2 and SAP which are not compatible, he told newspersons.

In the Bank of Muscat, Cuecent BPMS has automated processes that connect various banking channels in real time. The project has gone live, and the bank does about 2,50,000 transactions a day.

Similarly, in Sanad citizen services of the Government of Oman, Cuecent BPMS was the platform. Thomas Cook, a travel major, has chosen Cuecent BPMS to automate the exchange house processes, he said.

According to Mr S.V. Sriram, President, BCT, which is part of the $1 billion Suhail Bahwan Group, Cuecent BPMS is priced between Rs 20 lakh (for five users) and Rs 1 crore (for unlimited users).

In India, the company would target clients in various sectors, including banking and financial services and business process outsourcing, he said. Companies need not invest in writing thousands of codes, and can buy Cuecent BPMS, which could be used as a platform for various software applications to work on, he said.
