“Sanad Incubator for IT - Centre for Creativity”

BCT’s comprehensive training curriculum, innovative methodology and practical based approach won us a contract to train 900 Omani youths in the areas of Accounting and Oracle Financials, Hardware and Networking, and IT Software Programming.

In 2003, Bahwan CyberTek took the initiative to extend its portfolio of business activities to the education and training industry. In line with its midterm and long-term goals and objectives, BCT’s education and training division, Sanad Incubator for Information technology, Centre for Creativity, focuses on providing training services to build the national workforce and the citizens of Oman.

In the past year, BCT has successfully trained about 170 trainees in IT Software Programming, 199 trainees in Accounting and Oracle financials, 110 trainees in Hardware and Networking Engineering, 50 trainees in Call Center Technology and 43 trainees in “Entrepreneurship Development”.

Ambitious plans have been laid down by the Centre to meet expected rapid increase in it's intake to tap high growth potential. The Centre is committed to serve the country and evolve Oman into a knowledge society by bringing the latest in IT and job-oriented education, thus creating employment opportunities in the IT and other technology driven sectors for its citizens. It fully recognizes that excellent training is very critical in an individual’s and a country’s pursuit of excellence.

All of the Center's training programmes are specifically designed as job-oriented training programmes for Omani students who have completed their diploma and undergraduate studies in colleges and universities. The programmes equip them with introductory and advanced domain-specific knowledge and skills that will greatly enhance their employability levels in industries of their choice, whether government, public, or private.

Key Differentiators

Some of the unique features of the Centre are:

• Personality Development programmes that focus on developing and transforming youth into complete individuals who can feel, comprehend, imbibe, and respond to the environment they work in. Positive Thinking and Positive Attitude; Presentation and Communication; Goal Setting and Time Management; Focus, Work Ethics, Efficiency, and Effectiveness; Selling Skills; Team Building and Team Work; Negotiation and Decision Making
  
• Live projects from the Industry, simulation, Computer Based Training packages (CBTs), training on quality systems (ISO & SEI CMM), extensive role-plays, lively classroom interactions, and labs are judiciously interspersed so that the trainees exude great confidence and self-determination by the time they complete their training
  
• A unique mentor-tutor approach is employed which ensures assimilation of concepts and their application
  
• International Certifications: In addition to the trainees being jointly certified by Bahwan CyberTek and leading training institutions in India, the training builds up the trainees to enable them to take international certifications, such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Oracle Certified Administrator (OCA), and other certificates relevant to the programme. Bahwan CyberTek is an authorized International Computer Driving License (ICDL) training and testing center and is also a Prometric Test Centre.
  
• Additionally, the Centre arranges regular guest lectures by eminent personalities drawn from the industry and academia, exposes students to the techniques of effective resume writing and interview skills, and provides placement services that cater to the recruitment needs of several government, public, and private enterprises.
  

The Centre is located on a sprawling campus of about 10,000 sqm, and boasts advanced facilities, including:

• 7 state-of-the-art class rooms for theory classes, with an average seating capacity of 35 students
• Class rooms dedicated to entrepreneur training, with a seating capacity of 25 students 2 laboratories for software training, with 30 workstations each.
• 5 laboratories for hardware training, with 15 workstations each
• A 24-hour internet centre with a dedicated ISDN line
• A well-stocked library that caters to the entire cross-section of students from different training programs
• A dining hall that can serve up to 100 students at one time

On an average, we provide one computer per trainee.

Professional Placement Center (PPC)

The Professional Placement Center (PPC) has been set up by BCT to support and advance the career prospects of the trainees. PPC addresses a wide range of career concerns of the trainees and is involved in the coordination and administration of placement assistance to the trainees who successfully complete training at Center for Creativity. It offers important and timely career planning assistance and also facilitates the job search efforts of the trainees.

The center has a dedicated placement cell and has a very strong active and growing interface with the industry. BCT invites experts from industry for guest lectures. The Trainees have been placed in various Government, Public and Private sector organizations.

• BCT gives utmost importance to ensure that the qualified trainees receive good placements.
• Placements at BCT include an ongoing marketing and communications program to maintain and increase recruitment activities and establish industry contacts.
• BCT is uniquely placed to leverage on its experience and strengths for its placement activities.
• Over the past several years, BCT has developed a strong placement network among blue-chip organizations in the manufacturing sector, financial services sector, banking sector, IT sector, etc. This has been achieved through constant interaction with the industry through seminars, workshops, guest lectures, and campus and off campus placement initiatives.
• The profiles of the trainees seeking placement assistance are made available to potential employers.
• Placement meets and Career Fairs are organized as a part of the placement program.
• BCT conducts mock interviews and presentations to prepare students to enable them to face and deal with potential employers with confidence.

Thus, BCT has established a strong record of placements for the various training programs conducted over the years. BCT has achieved about 80% of placements of their trainees and is constantly working hard towards achieving the 100% mark.
